The second round of the Italian ACI-CSAI Championship, race underway at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno, features 150 drivers coming from 19 different countries. Besides Italy, Venezuela, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Belgium, United States, Brazil, Canada, France, Russia, Switzerland, India, Spain, Czech Republic, Great Britain , Lithuania, Norway, Romania and Sweden are the represented countries. After the two days of Thursday and Friday devoted to free practice, today the track has been busy with qualifying and heats that took the event to its heart.

KZ2. KZ2 has been quite exciting, as Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello-TM) claimed the pole in 1'04"500, being 14 thousands of a second clear of Paolo Ippolito (Birel-TM) and 98 to the Italian revelation Giovanni Sportella (Birel-TM). Loris Spinelli (PCR-TM), the French Jeremy Iglesias (Lenzo-LKE), Ciro Mollo (Rosso Korsa-TM), Pasquale Feola (Praga-TM), Mirko Torsellini (Art GP-TM), Luca Corberi (Kosmic-Vortex) andLuigi Di Poto (FK-TM) completed the top ten.

The first out of the six heats was won by Sportella from Di Poto and Zanchetta. The second heat had quite a moment in a spectacular – but consequence-less – incident that involved Torsellini and Spinelli while battling out the lead. The victory went then to Camplese from Corberi. Spinelli – for the first time in karting – has been handed a 3 place grid penalty in the first Final he will be partaking in the Italian Championship as he was deemed responsible for the incident. Torsellini won heat three as was definitely the quickest, while Luca Tilloca (Art GP-Parilla) won the fourth heat. The fifth went again to an unleashed Tilloca that managed to overtake Spinelli. The latter had to concede his position also to Torsellini that claimed second. The sixth and final heat started with Ippolito making a mistake at the getaway, Camplese got the lead and clinched the second victory, while Corberi pipped Iglesias to the second place. The fourth and fifth place went to the American Gary Carlton (TB Kart-Modena) and Alessandro Giulietti (Intrepid-TM).

KF3. Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-LKE) has been the KF3 pace setter as happened in La Conca. In heat one Garofano took the lead from Aldo Festante (Tony Kart-LKE) to the American Devlin Defrancesco (Tony Kart-Vortex), as Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla) ended fourth and Lorenzo Travisanutto (PCR-TM) fifth, while La Conca's race-2 winner Tommaso Mosca (Birel-TM) crossed the line in sixth. Garofano had a technical problem at the start of heat two and Defrancesco took the win with Festante second again. The third place went to Travisanutto who proceeded Kami Moreira-Laliberte (Tony Kart-Parilla) and Lorandi.

KF2. Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart-TM) set the pace again in KF2 as he set the quickest time in qualifying and won the two heats. Maestranzi proceeded Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-TM) and Antonio Romanucci (Tony Kart-TM) in the first heat, as Andrea Moretti (Exprit-TM) ended fourth. Maestranzi led again Albano and Romanucci in the second heat, while Pierluigi Lanza (Tony Kart-TM) crossed the finish line in fourth, ahead of Stefano Villa Zanotti (Tony Kart-Vortex).

In the very tight 60 Mini, Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-LKE) got the pole position ahead of Alessandro Giardelli (Tony Kart-LKE) and La Conca's race-1 winner from Norway Dennis Hauger (CRG-LKE), while his Malaysian team mate Muizzuddin was fourth.

Nicola Abrusci (Tony kart-LKE) took the win in heat one though, leading Hauger and Francesco Pagano (Top kart-LKE). Muizzuddin clinched the victory in the second heat instead, as he proceeded Fusco and Hauger, Pagano followed in fourth and Leonardo Marseglia (CRG-LKE) in fifth. Heat three was won by Fusco from Antonio Serravalle (Tony Kart-LKE) to Danny Carenini (FA-LKE) instead.
