It has been an intense and hot -- not only weather wise -- weekend in Sarno's International Circuit Napoli, the track that housed the second round of the Italian ACI-CSAI Karting Championship. 150 drivers coming from 19 different countries have been battling out this round that confirmed some protagonists already to the fore in the first round of Muro Leccese, as in the case of Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello) who also won in Sarno's first Final of KZ2, but it also launched some new rising stars like Art GP's works driver Mirko Torsellini who took the victory in the second Final.

Lorenzo Camplese claimed the victory in the first Final of KZ2 leading a competitive Luca Tilloca on Art GP-Parilla and the French driver Jeremy Iglesias -- works driver for Lenzokart-LKE -- at the end of a good fight that also involved Francesco Celenta (Energy-TM) and Torsellini who managed to get back from the starting P12 (position due to an incident in one heat) to the fifth position, right ahead of Luca Corberi (Kosmic-Vortex).

Torsellini put in a stunning start in the second Final and got an early lead that he later on kept all the way to the flag, getting the most of the battles that were going on behind him. The podium went to Camplese and Tilloca, respectively second and third at the end of a good duel, while Iglesias ended fourth after being one of the main protagonists trying to close in to Torsellini. Very good fifth place for the American Gary Carlton (TB Kart-Modena), who proceeded Flavio Sani (Birel-TM), Antonio Piccioni (CKR-TM) and Marco Pastacaldi (CRG-TM). Former classification leader Marco Zanchetta, scored a DNF in race-1 due to an incident and in race-2 due to a technical problem. Early retirement due to an incident also for Celenta.

Camplese got therefore the lead of the charts where now he enjoys a 46 points lead to Celenta.

The KF2 dominator of Muro Leccese, Marco Maestranzi, turned out to be protagonist again in this weekend, but he had to retire from race-1 due to a contact with si è rivelato ancora protagonista del weekend ma in gara-1 è stato costretto al ritiro dopo un contatto con Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-TM) mentre stavano lottando per la prima posizione.

In the second Final, after an early lead of the Venezuelan Sidney Gomez (CRG-Parilla), Maestranzi managed to come back from the low part of the grid and took a fair victory with a 3 seconds lead to Albano, who in turn produced a good comeback race too. The third step of the podiun went to Villa Zanotti, while Andrea Moretti ended fourth, placing that allowed him to gain the classification lead as he now is 16 points clear of Maestranzi.

Devlin Defrancesco on Tony Kart-Vortex run by team Morsicani won the first Final leading Lorenzo Travisanutto (PCR-TM) and Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-LKE), as the latter started from P15 and fought his way through to the third step of the podium. The fourth place went to Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla) who proceeded previous round race-2 winner Tommaso Mosca (Birel-TM) and Jean Alesi's son, Giuliano who clinched a good P6.

The second Final saw Lorandi getting an early lead, but then Baby Race's driver lost some ground before being involved in an incident with Mosca in their duel for P1. The lead was therefore taken by Travisanutto who won the race from Defrancesco as the Brazilian Gabriel Sereia (Exprit-Vortex) claimed P3 after a good come back race started from the back of the grid. Defrancesco is currently leading the classification with 6 points more than Garofano.

An incident without physical consequences spoiled 60 Mini's first Final as the Malaysian driver Muizzuddin (CRG-LKE) rolled over and race organizers red flagged the race. At the restart, the win went to Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-LKE) who led Nicola Abrusci and Dimitri Bogdanov, both on Tony Kart-LKE.

Final two saw Muizzuddin having doctor's permission to get on track. The victory went to Marzio Moretti (Tony kart-LKE), as Fusco came second and Mattia Michelotto third at the end of a nice duel with Francesco Pagano (Top Kart-LKE), the Norwegian Dennis Hauger (CRG-LKE) and his team mate Leonardo Marseglia. Muizzuddin ended 12th instead. The classification lead is in Hauger's hands by 7 points to Fusco.
