The fourth and penultimate round of the Italian ACI-CSAI Karting Championship in Ortona started to show its protagonists in Saturday's qualifying. A good spectacle at the International Circuit of Abruzzo
has been put on track especially in KZ2 and 60 Mini but also KF2 and KF3 turned out to be interesting, despite the number of drivers being lower than in the previous three rounds of the championship.

In KZ2 is underway an assault to the championship lead of Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello-Tm), by Giacomo Pollini (CKR-Tm), who set the quickest time in qualifying, and by Loris Spinelli (CRG-Tm), who put in a very tight first heat closed right behind Camplese leading Francesco Celenta (Energy-Tm) and Alessandro Giulietti (Intrepid-Tm), as the latter came back to the fore in Ortona after the two titles won in the last two seasons. In the second heat Spinelli got the satisfaction of taking Camplese winning ahead of Giulietti and Celenta, who gained some ground on Camplese too as the latter ended fourth. Spectacle on track is granted for Sunday.

In 60 Mini the spectacle has been granted by 42 very young drivers. Nicola Abrusci (Tony Kart-Lke) led the pack in the first of the two groups as the championship leade Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzokart-Lke) led the second one. The first of the three heats was then won byAlessandro Giardelli (Tony Kart-Lke) at the sprint on Abrusci and Francesco Pagano (Top Kart-Lke). The second heat was won by Fusco, with Skeed (Top Kart-Parilla) being second. The third heat lived also a three ways sprint to the flag involving Pagano, Fusco and Negro (Top Kart-Comer). Fusco's rival in the championship, the Danish driver Dennis Hauger (CRG/Hero-Lke) ended wit a bit of delay instead.

The supremacy in KF2 shown so far by Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart-Tm) seem to be less certain in Ortona. Andrea Moretti (Exprit-Tm) kept him behind in qualifying even if by only 32 thousands of a second, while Alessandro Pandolfi (Top Kart-Tm) slided in the fight for the top in the first heat. Maestranzi crossed the line in first position though even if by just quite on Moretti and Pandolfi. In the second heat, despite an early lead by Moretti, Maestranzi ended on top again as Matteo Leone was second and Pandolfi third, while Moretti had to pay for an error in a corner that relegated him to P4. Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-Tm) ended to the back due to some technical problems.

In KF3 Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-Tm), who is the current classification leader, did not have any problems to secure pole position and victory in the first heat, ahead of an excellent Milen Ponomarenko (Tony Kart-Lke) and of team mate Aldo Festante. In the second heat Festante led Ponomarenko, while Garofano was third ahead of Filippo Lazzaroni (Art GP-Tm) and Tommaso Tridici (Top Kart-Tm).
