The fourth round of the italian ACI-CSAI Karting Championship has taken place at the International Circuit of Abruzzo in Ortona even though the number of drivers in this occasion has been lower than in the three previous occasions. Spectacle on track did not lack and the double finals of the 4 categories KZ2, KF2, KF3 and 60 Mini, have been exciting and interesting anyway. The classification is still open in all the categories: in KZ2 Camplese kept his lead, in KF2 Maestranzi did the same, as in KF3 Garofano and Fusco in 60 Mini.

CAMPLESE AND SPINELLI GET THE WIN IN KZ2
KZ2 has been the most spectacular series with Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello-Tm) winning race-1 and Loris Spinelli (CRG-Tm) race-2. The two winners of Ortona have been unquestionably the main protagonists of the category. In the first final, Spinelli led nearly all the race but a problem to the brakes in the final laps made him lose some ground and Camplese, who has been in his toe for most of the race, managed to take him at the final lap. Spinelli tried to fend him off but went off at the final corner and Camplese's team mate Marco Zanchetta got the most of it and awarded Maranello kart with a one-two. The third place went to Francesco Celenta (Energy-Tm) who led Alessandro Giulietti (Intrepid-Tm), while Spinelli was sixth. In race-2 Spinelli got an early lead and this time he did not concede it until the end. The second place went to Alessandro Cavina (PCR-Tm), the third to Davide De Marco (TB Kart-Tm). Zanchetta ended fourth, Camplese eighth. Giulietti out at the beginning due to a technical problem, while Celenta had the same fate due to an excursion.

The two Maranello Kart's drivers Camplese and Zanchetta will fight the championship off as the first has 194 points and the second 158.

FUSCO CONFIRMED AS LEADER OF 60 MINI
60 Mini had 42 drivers at the start and has been quite tight in qualifying heats as well as in the two finals. The first was quite uncertain until the flag when Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-Lke) saw the win slipping out of his hands in the closing stages Race-1 went in fact "Skeed"'s ways (Top Kart-Parilla), while Fusco followed him closely and Dennis Hauger (CRG/Hero-Lke) was third as he inherited the position held by Francesco Pagano (Top Kart-Lke) as the latter crossed the line on the grass. Race-2 has been a bit more linear with Andrea Rosso (Energy-Lke) leading virtually from lights to flag taking a win ahead of Mattia Michelotto (Top Kart-Parilla), while Fusco got again on the podium keeping the classification lead. Hauger claimed fourth, a position that gave him the honour place in the charts being 28 points shy of the leader.

MAESTRANZI AND ALBANO GETTING THE WIN IN KF2
In KF2, Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-Tm) responded to Marco Maestranzi's dominion (Top Kart-Tm) in race-1. Andrea Moretti (Exprit-Tm) managed to get an early lead in race-1 but then Maestranzi had the best of his rivals. Third on the podium was Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-Tm) at the end of a good comeback race. Albano got an early lead in race-2 and claimed the win making the most of the incidents that put off Maestranzi first and Moretti then. The second step of the podium went to Alessandro Pandolfi (Top Kart-Tm) while the third to Antonio Romanucci (Tony Kart-Tm).
Maestranzi keeps the lead in the championship with 14 points more than Moretti.

MAIDEN WIN FOR FESTANTE IN KF3
KF3's wins went to Aldo Festante (Tony Kart-Lke) in race-1 and Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-Tm) in race-2, but the young Russian Milen Ponomarenko (Tony Kart-Lke) run also a good race and, despite being at his debut in the Italian Championship, managed to get on the podium. The win in the first final went to Aldo Festante of Forza Racing who proceeded Milen Ponomarenko at the flag, as the latter has been very quick and not scared by the heat on top. The third step of the podium went to classification leader Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-Tm) who has been affected by engine problems. In race two, Garofano made the most of the challenge on top between Ponomarenko and Festante. Garofano managed to proceed the Russian driver by a whisker. The third place was obtained by Tommaso Tridici (Top Kart-Tm) and Festante ended fifth.
Garofano confirmed his classification lead reaching 151 points.
