The Italian ACI Karting Championship is ready for the beginning of the new season, that will see the first of the 5 rounds on the calendar to take place at the International Circuit of Triscina (Trapani). The programme features free practice for all categories on Thursday 30 April to give all drivers the chance to test technical material and track ahead of the racing weekend.

The round of Triscina will then continue with another session of free practice on Friday 1 May, while qualifying practice and heats will follow on Saturday 2 May, second chance races and double Final will end the event on Sunday 3 May.

The event is an important comeback for national karting to Sicily that has always been a very active region in motorsport and particularly in karting. The structure of Triscina already housed the Italian Championship in the past years, but the last round held at this venue dates back to 2011: the single race of the National Prodriver Trophy and 100-125 Italia, that had a good participation.

Teh categories on track for the Italian ACI Karting Championship 2015 are 60 Mini, the new KF Junior Cadets, KF Junior, KF and KZ2. Entry lists are open for the first race of Triscina and to all the other rounds of the championship. Entry forms are available at www.acisportitalia.it.

Interest is already high on this first round of the season both for teams of the region but also for the national teams. Team Gamoto will line up a total of around ten drivers in 60 Mini and KF Junior. Team Galiffa Kart will also lineup several drivers in all categories, included KZ2 where the team from Abruzzo has been particularly successful.

The other rounds of the Italian Championship will be at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno (7 June), the new Adria International Raceway (26 June), the Kartodrome of Val Vibrata (9 August) and the season closer will be at the Circuit of Siena on 30 August. The final two rounds of Val Vibrata and Siena will have an increased points scheme with coefficient 1.5. Three jokers will be available on the total of 10 races, but races not run will not count as jokers.
