The second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship will start tomorrow and from tomorrow, Saturday 6 June, the new regulations on the front bumper joins that make the nose cone drop a few centimeters after a contact and end up in a penalty to drivers.
This new rule has been devised by CIK-FIA and published last 27 April with validity from 4 May, and it will be applied also in Italy and will hold for all the races part of the CIK-FIA calendar (as the Italian Championship races) for categoriesKZ2, KF and KF Junior.

The new regulations have been introduced at the beginning of the year, but then have been suspended as the detaching front nose cone (judged unsafe) was modified into a nose cone dropping a few centimeters towards the chassis. Should a driver end the race with a dropped cone, no matter if the contact is inadvertent or not, the driver will be handed a 30s time penalty. This is to avoid incidents and contacts among drivers, events that in truth have always happened in karting, but the objective is to keep safety standards high. CIK-FIA's regulation has been applied at the European Championship in Portugal and Spain and a series of surprises characterized the end results.
