Qualifying heats to get the pass for the final stages on Sunday in the Italian ACI Karting Championship at the Adria Karting Raceway proposed a good series of spectacular moments as all the protagonists of the Italian championship got on track for the third round of the season.

In the four categories KZ2, KF, KF Junior and 60 Mini, the challenge involved 127 drivers from 17 countries: Italy, Romania, Lithuania, England, Norway, China, Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Russia, Switzerland, France, United States, Colombia and Mexico.

Qualifying held on Saturday morning had some surprising outcomes, as the quickest time of KZ2 posted by the not yet 15 years old Alex Irlando on DR-Tm, or the great performance put in by Federico Cecchi on Tony Kart-Tm in 60 Mini, or that of the French Lucas Peterson (Tony Kart-Vortex) in KF Junior. Meanwhile, Leonardo Lorandi on Tony Kart-Vortex confirmed to be one of the strongest interpreters of KF.

The three qualifying heats of KZ2 saw the victories going to Francesco Celenta and Lorenzo Camplese, both on Parolin, and to the Croatian Kristijan Habulin (TB Kart-Modena), but very good performances were also scored by Mirko Torsellini (Ricciardo-Tm), Davide De Marco (TB Kart-Tm) Tommaso Mosca (Maranello-Tm), Alex Irlando and Alessandro Pelizzari (CKR-Modena). Classification leader Riccardo Longhi (CRG-Tm) was a bit on the back with two seventh places.

In KF, Leonardo Lorandi dominated the first heat, but then Jacopo Gheno (Tony Kart-Vortex) had the best in the second heat, due also to a technical problem affecting Lorandi's getaway.

Great performance for the Russian Milen Ponomarenko (Lenzo-Lke) in KF Junior, but she was later on handed a 10s time penalty due to the dropped nose cone in a contact, that stripped the Russian girl from the heat victory. The success was therefore inherited by Filippo Lazzaroni (DR-Tm). The second heat was won by the Russian Ivan Grigoriev (Kosmic-Vortex).

The poleman of 60 Mini Federico Cecchi has been the main protagonist of the heats securing two wins. One heat went to the Sicilian Gabriele Minì (Energy-Parilla). Great placings also for Nicolò Cuman (Tony Kart-Tm), Dennis Hauger (CRG-Tm), Biagio Ruvolo (Energy-Parilla) and Luca Griggs (CRG-Tm). The classification leader Mattia Michelotto (Energy-Parilla) obtained a good fourth and fifth place.
