It has been a red hot weekend, that of Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata (Teramo) valid for the fourth and penultimate round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship, as 118 drivers made it to the track in the four categories KZ2, 60 Mini, KF Junior and KF.

Temperatures have been really hot, not only regarding air, but also on track due to the spectacle in all categories, with fair races. Points increased by 50% for this and the final round in Siena of next 30 August, added some more spice and gave a chance to some protagonists to pull away in the charts.

KZ2. KZ2 had 41 drivers at the start. Mirko Torsellini (Ricciardo-Tm) took the win in race-1 after bending the competitiveness of the home hero Loris Spinelli (PCR-Tm), who had been the quickest early in the weekend during qualifying and heats. In the first Final, Spinelli led most of the race but then had a technical decrease in performance and had to give way to Torsellini who claimed the second win of the season as Spinelli was second. The third place was taken by Lorenzo Camplese (Parolin-Tm), while classification leader Riccardo Longhi (CRG-Tm) managed to recover up to P7 from a starting P19. In race-2, a pile at the end of lap one involved Longhi and Camplese, that were forced to the retirement. The final classification welcomed the victory of Spinelli on Torsellini, as Alessandro Giulietti claimed third at the debut with TB Kart. Torsellini also had to pay the consequence of the incident as he damaged the front nose and therefore was penalized by the new regulations. The second place was therefore inherited by Giulietti, and the third by Nicola Gnudi (VRK-Tm). Torsellini was relegated to P8 instead, but keeps the lead of the charts with 129 points, while Longhi is second at 112 and Spinelli third at 97.

60 MINI. 60 Mini had 49 drivers on track and offered once again an exceptional spectacle. Classification leader Dennis Hauger (CRM-Tm) managed to cross the finish line as the winner at the end of a good battle in race-1, leading Federico Cecchi (Tony Kart-Tm) and Leonardo Marseglia (Zanardi-Tm). In race-2, despite the top eight grid inversion, Hauger was again one of the main protagonists and crossed the line in P2 (scoring precious points for the championship) behind Mattia Michelotto (Energy-Parilla) who dominated this race from lights to flag. Leonardo Caglioni (Evokart-Tm) put in a great performance too as he scored his first podium in race-2 after the fourth place in race-1. In the classification of 60 Mini (sub-judice due to some pending appeals) Hauger pulled away at 219 points, as Ruvolo is second at 165, and Michelotto third at 162.

KF Junior. KF Junior, had 23 drivers at the start. Race-1 witnessed an incredible challenge on top with Nicola Abrusci (Tony Kart-Vortex), Alessandro Giardelli (Tony Kart-Lke) and the Australian Aaron Cameron (Tony Kart-Vortex), at the debut in the championship, alternating on top. Championship leader Giardelli managed to be the first at the line proceeding Abrusci and Cameron in the order. In race-2 Abrusci did not miss his chance to get the win, leading Cameron, while the third step of the podium was taken by Lorenzo Colombo (Tony Kart-Lke). The Russian Ivan Grigoriev (Kosmic-Vortex), third in the championship ahead of this race just two points short of the lead, had a troubled weekend instead. Grigoriev had to retire in race-1 and then recovered in race-2 up to P9. The first place in the classification is occupied by Giardelli at 158 points, while Colombo is second at 120.

KF. KF had 5 drivers at the start and Lorenzo Travisanutto (Tony Kart-Tm) did not have problems to win both finals despite being at his first race in the championship. A missed start in race-2 cost Stefano Cucco (Energy-Tm) the championship lead as he was third in race-1 behind Jacopo Gheno (Tony Kart-Vortex). Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-Tm) had to retire from race-1 instead, before getting on the podium of race-2, with Gheno third. Gheno is currently holding the classification lead at 100 points, Cucco is second at 98 and Albano third at 82,5.

The final round for all categories will take place next 30 August in Siena.
