After the opener of the Italian Championship held last month in Castelletto, the positive trend of the Italian ACI Karting Championship is happily continuing as the second round of the season, race scheduled for this weekend at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno, has also broken the 200 entrants mark for the categories KZ2, 60 Mini, OK Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior and 125 Club.

In total, 201 drivers have been verified in Sarno, as 60 Mini – the category reserved for 9 to 12 years old drivers – scored a new record of 76 drivers, improving the great 70 drivers partaking in the round of Castelletto. Great presence also in the powerful KZ2, that has 54 drivers at the start with some top names at the national level.

Very good participation also in 125 Club that will see 36 drivers on track in Sarno in the opener of this category. Good numbers have also been registered in the International OK Junior (15 drivers) and in the new categories of the Federation with Iame engine: ACI Kart (14 drivers) and ACI Kart Junior – opened to eleven years old drivers (6 drivers).

The total number of drivers present in the opener of the Italian Championship in Castelletto was 207 drivers, but the two categories Prodriver Under and Over have been replaced by 125 Club in this occasion. Therefore, despite one category less, the 201 drivers present in Sarno confirm the interest on the Italian Karting 2016 Championship.

Free practice took place this afternoon and provided the first indications on the renewed track of Sarno that has been shortened to 1.550 meters from the original 1.699m and that has been deeply changed especially in the final sector leading to the main straight and in the initial part after the start line.
