The "charge" of the 201 in Sarno for the Italian ACI Karting Championship, 15 babies in the Entry Level

The International Circuit Napoli of Sarno (Salerno) staged the first of the challenging racing days valid for the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship. A total of 201 drivers on track for the Italian Championship and 15 very young drivers of the promotional category Entry Level in a side race.

The event officially inaugurated the new layout of the Sarno track that now has been reduced to 1.550 meters from the original 1.699. The final sector has been quite heavily changed right before the main straight and the radius of the first corner that made the whole circuit more flowing and faster than in the past. A total of 54 drivers present in KZ2, 76 in Mini (for 9 to 12 years old), 15 in OK Junior, 20 in the two federal series ACI Kart (14) and ACI Kart Junior (6), 36 in Club. The very interesting event also featured the promotional category Entry Level with 15 very young drivers aged between 6 and 8.

After qualifying held on Saturday morning, 23 heats have been run to name the finalist of the round of Sarno. KZ2, Mini and Club will decide the final 6 places of the grid with the second chance races on Sunday morning. The two finals will be covered live on TV by AutoMoto TV while the Live Streaming on the web will start at 10.55 for the first set of Finals and at 14.25 for the second.

In KZ2, after the quickest time set by Francesco Celenta (Ipk-Tm) who was followd by two other very quick youngsters: Tommaso Mosca (Maranello-Tm) and Alessio Baldi (CRG-Tm). Francesco Celenta, who also is the provisional leader after the round of Castelletto, has kept hi momentum in the heats, together with an excellent Mirko Torsellini (Exprit-Tm), and Alessandro Giulietti (TB Kart-Tm). Celenta won 3 heats, Torsellini two, Giulietti on. The last heat was won by Celenta from Torsellini, Viganò, Mosca and Zanchetta, a good international top 5. 2015 Champion Riccardo Longhi (CRG-Tm) was a bit lower down the field.

In 60 Mini a lot of drivers aim at the victory. Among the main protagonists, Gabriele Minì (Energy-Tm) set the pole and won three heats. He will be challenged by Alfio Andrea Spina (CRG-Tm), Ugo Ugochukwu (Energy-Tm), Nicolò Cuman (Tony Kart-Tm), Luca Bosco (Tony Kart-Tm), Leonardo Caglioni (Energy-Tm) and Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart-Vortex).

The main contender to the victory of OK Junior is Francesco Pagano (Tony Kart-Tm), who set the pole position followed by Perdana Minang (Tony Kart-Vortex), Nicolò Genisi (Formula K-Tm) e Alessandro Giardelli (Tony Kart-Tm) in a category that announces to be quite lively

In 125 ACI Kart and ACI Kart Junior with Iame engines, Simone Favaro and Alessandro Di Cori are the main contenders to the victory in ACI Kart, while Aleksander Bardas (DR-Iame) is the favourite of ACI Kart Junior alongside Matteo Maria Roccadelli (Evokart-Iame).

In 125 Club, after the pole position set by Tommaso Polidoro (EKS-TK-Tm) with a surprising Francesca Cifola (Formula K-Tm) following him, Carlo Caringi (EKS-TK-Tm), Mauro Moretti (Tony Kart-Tm), Francesco Atzori (CRG-Tm) and Marco Miastkowski (VRK-Tm) came to the fore. An incident in the final heat forced both Polidoro and Caringi to the retirement.
