The Italian ACI Karting Championship to kick off next April 17th from Castelletto di Branduzzo

The Italian ACI Karting Championship is about to start from the Circuit 7 Laghi with categories 60 Mini, KZ2, OK, OK Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior, Prodriver Under and Prodriver Over.

Season 2016 is all set to start with the first round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship scheduled for the weekend of 15-17 April at the Circuit 7 Laghi of Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia). The first round is going to be open for categories 60 Mini, KZ2, OK, OK Junior, ACI Kart and ACI Kart Junior (11 to 13yrs) with Iame X30 engine, while Prodriver Under and Prodriver Over will also get on track for the first of the three rounds of these categories.

The Italian Championship will then continue on May 29th at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno, before moving to the Adria Karting Raceway on July 10th, to the International Circuit of Triscina (Trapani) on September 18th and then to the Val Vibrata Kartodrome in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata (Teramo) on October 16th.

The other rounds of the Italian Prodriver Championship following the race of Castelletto di Branduzzo will take place in Adria (July 10th) and in Triscina (September 18th).

Category 125 Club will also run the Italian 2016 championship in three rounds to be held in Sarno (May 29th), Adria (July 10th) and Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata (October 16th).

As happened last year, the two rounds of Triscina and Val Vibrata will have coefficient 1.5. Two finals will take place in each round, the first one will award the top 15 drivers with more points than the second (40 to the first and then 30, 24, 20, 16, 12, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1). The second Final will award points to the top 13 drivers (26 points to the winner and 22, 18, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1). The final classification will be drawn considering the best 8 results obtained in Final-1 and Final-2.

The final classification of classes 125 Club and 125 Prodriver will be decided on the basis of the best 4 results.

In 2016 the National Rookie Trophy has been introduced for categories 60 Mini, OK Junior, OK and KZ2 to award the first classified driver at his first year of activity in the class.

The National Women Trophy will also award the highest scoring female driver.

Two classifications will also award Chassis and Engines.
