A good number of drivers at the first act of the Italian ACI Karting Championship in Lonato

The opener of the Italian Karting Championship at South Garda Karting on May 1st has a good presence. Categories on track: KZ2, 60 Mini, OK, OK-Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior and KZ4.

The opener of the Italian ACI Karting Championship that will exceptionally take place on Monday May 1st -- due to the workers day --  at the South Garda Karting track of Lonato, has record numbers. 

A lot of strong drivers have already entered the race of Lonato that will see categories KZ2, 60 Mini, OK, OK-Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior and KZ4 (former 125 Club) on track.

In Lonato,  Marco Zanchetta -- Italian Vice-Champion in 2014 behind team mate Lorenzo Camplese --  will be back in KZ2 on Maranello-Tm, as another former Italian Vice-Champion, Mirko Torsellini on CRG-Tm, who was second in 2015 behind Riccardo Longhi and second again in 2016 behind Francesco Celenta. Francesco Celenta will also be among the big names present in Lonato, as this year he will be competing for Praga after winning the Championship last year with Formula K. This trio of drivers will certainly keep spectacle levels high. The French Nicolas Gonzales and the Swiss Christoph Hold, both on Maranello, will also be present, while Luca Tilloca will be back at the wheel of a CRG chassis, Alessandro Giardelli will compete for CRG works team and Giacomo Pollini for Formula K. Some other drivers will also keep the challenge on. 

Category 60 Mini is also quite crowded, with all top class teams entered and three very young drivers following the footsteps of their famous fathers: Enzo Trulli, son of former F1 and Formula E driver Jarno Trulli, Brando Badoer son of former F1 driver Luca Badoer and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, son of the former driver and current team manager Marco Antonelli. Among the main protagonists partaking in the round of Lonato, the young Russian driver Nikita Bedrin will compete for Baby Race and the revelation Alfio Spina for CRG Gamoto.

OK-Junior, ACI Kart and ACI Kart Junior will also have interesting entry lists, as KZ4. The very young protagonists of Entry Level (6-8 yrs) will get on track for a support race.
