Rome, May 12, 2023. Great start for the 2023 Italian ACI Karting Championship in the first race at the Cremona Circuit from 18-21 May with about 250 participants in the MINI Gr.3, MINI Gr.3 Under 10, OK-N, OK-N Junior, KZ2, KZN Under and KZN Over. In particular, the debut of the two new categories, OK-N and OK-N Junior, is excellent, with around 55 drivers participating and expected to increase in the upcoming events. After many years, the Italian ACI Karting Championship is back in the spotlight, with the exclusive participation of federal categories as part of the new project strongly desired by the ACI Karting Commission.

OK-N and OK-N Junior have a great debut.

The turnout in all categories was very positive, but what characterizes the 2023 season is the introduction of OK-N and OK-N Junior in the Tricolore, which are the two new federal categories established internationally by the FIA and immediately adopted in Italy by ACI Sport. They made a strong debut at the Cremona Circuit with approximately 55 drivers and more entries are expected in the upcoming races, such as the imminent entry of the AKM Antonelli Motorsport team. These two categories will also have an international stage, with the OK and OKJ World Championship event scheduled from 5 to 8 October at Franciacorta in the "Road to OK-N World Cup" event, leading to the prestigious OK-N World Cup in the FIA Karting World Championship in 2024.

Impressive starting grids in MINI, KZ2 and KZN.

The Cremona Circuit will have impressive starting grids in all categories, starting from the MINI Gr.3 and the youngest participants in the Under 10 category. The KZ2 category is also strong, with many top drivers eager to compete in the Italian Championship, including Cristian Bertuca, Alex Maragliano, Alessio Piccini, Ebner Moritz, Daniel Vasile, Alex Irlando, Davide Forè and many other international karting protagonists. The two categories KZN Under and KZN Over, are also well represented, with drivers competing in a championship composed of three events: after Cremona on 21 May, they will race at La Conca on 18 June and at Sarno on 27 August.
