There is a mix of experience, skills and passion in the new endeavour of the Antonelli family, called AKM Motorsport by Kart Republic. It is an unprecedented reality led by Marco and Andrea Kimi Antonelli (father and son), who are ready to debut in national and international karting.

AKM Motorsport by Kart Republic is also born thanks to a close collaboration with Dino Chiesa's Kart Republic, a renowned name in the field, becoming effectively a 'junior team' based in Desenzano del Garda (near the Lonato track). It primarily focuses on programs in categories ranging from Mini to KZ, both in the Italian championship and in the WSK, to complement the efforts of KR.

Taking on the role of the technical manager is Thomas Mardaga, who is already highly regarded in his position. The team's activities will initially concentrate on the Mini, OK-N and OK-N Junior categories in the national championships, with occasional appearances in the WSK series. 

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, when available, will serve as a coach and also contribute to the development of the OK-N and OK-N Junior chassis. He is currently a driver in the Mercedes program, a multiple European karting champion with Dino Chiesa's team and winner of last year's Italian F4 title and the ADAC series. At the beginning of 2023, he became the champion of the Formula Regional Middle East and is currently a protagonist in the European Formula Regional. 

Therefore, AKM Motorsport by Kart Republic expands the commitment of AKM Motorsport in the Italian F4 Championship, where they have been consistently present for four seasons, and joins the efforts of the Antonelli Motorsport team, led by Marco and engaged in major GT series.

"I have always thought of doing something in karting, but until now, the right opportunity had never come up and we did not have a point of reference, which we have now found in Thomas," explains Marco Antonelli. "I must also say that I was convinced by Kimi. And then, Dino is a guarantee: with him, Kimi himself has achieved the most important successes of his karting career."

"I am very happy to start this new adventure with my father. Personally, when I am not busy with other sports commitments, I will try to follow the team and assist the drivers by providing coaching," added Andrea Kimi Antonelli. "As always, we will strive to do our best, and I am really looking forward to getting started".
