Spectacular finals in Sarno's fourth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship

Up for grabs also the two KZN titles that went to Antonio Piccioni (Under) and Riccardo Nalon (Over). The fight for the other titles is wide open and will end on September 24th in Franciacorta.

Exciting finals were expected in Sarno for the fourth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship, and that is exactly what happened, despite the intense heat that plagued the International Circuit Napoli throughout this weekend, with 220 drivers on a decidedly scorching track.

KZ2 – Bertuca pulls away in the standings.
A masterful weekend for the championship leader Cristian Bertuca (#105 LG Motorsport/BirelART-TM Kart), who extended his lead over his rivals even further with an important victory in race 1 and a third-place finish in race 2 in Sarno . In race 1, Bertuca triumphed over the pole-sitter Maxim Orlov (#149 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart) and Alessio Piccini (#107 Tribe One/BirelART-TM Kart), while in race 2, Moritz Ebner (#124 Drago Corse/Drago-TM Kart) came out on top, with Orlov in second place and Bertuca in third.

The standings of the Italian KZ2 Championship:
1. Cristian Bertuca (ITA #105 LG Motorsport/BirelART-TM Kart-MG) points 288.
2. Maxim Orlov (#149 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart) points 192.
3. Alex Irlando (ITAi#114 Drago Corse/Drago-TM Kart) points 187

The standings of the Italian KZ2 Under 18 Championship:
1. Cristian Bertuca (ITA #105 LG Motorsport/BirelART-TM Kart-MG) points 346
2. Maxim Orlov (#149 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart) points 260
3. Enrico Martinese (ITA #120 King Racing/KR-Iame) points 228.

MINI Gr.3 – Baglin and Walz share the success.
The MINI Gr.3 category was characterized by the usual uncertain battles right up to the finish line. In race 1, the Englishman Noah Baglin (#21 iKart/KR-Iame) claimed victory ahead of Spanish driver Bosco Arias Chavarri (#55 Team Driver/KR-Iame) and American Devin Walz (#48 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), with the Romanian Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (#99 Team Driver/KR-Iame) finishing fourth after a great recovery. In race 2, Devin Walz managed to secure a close victory over Ludovico Mazzola (#96 Tony Kart R.T./Tony Kart-Vortex), while Baglin once again made it to the podium with a third-place finish.

The standings of the Italian MINI Gr.3 Championship:
1. Noah Baglin (GBR #21 iKart/KR-Iame-MG) points 269
2. Bosco Arias Chavarri (ESP #3 Team Driver/KR-Iame) points 174
3. Devin Walz (USA #48 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) points 149

MINI Gr.3 Under 10 – Gorski keeps leading, Pezzuto surprised all.
The Polish driver Leonardo Gorski (#218 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) maintains his lead in the championship thanks to the victory in race 1, secured by just 0.005s ahead of the Ukrainian Oleksandr Legenkyi (#230 Team Driver/KR-Iame) and David Moscardi (#260 AMC/BirelART-TM Kart). In race 2, Andrea Pezzuto (#241 KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) surprised everyone with a comeback victory of 10 positions. The second place was taken by Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (#215 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) and the third went to the Australian Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (#266 Tony Kart R.T./Tony Kart-Vortex).
The standings of the Italian MINI Gr.3 Under 10 Championship:
1. Leonardo Gorski (POL #218 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame-MG) points 233
2. Niccolò Perico (ITA #237 Energy Corse/Energy-TM Kart) points 135
3. Oleksandr Legenkyi (UKR #230 KR-Iame) points 126.

OK-Junior – Ivannikov and Pesl are the two final winners.
In the first of the two finals, the victory went to Vladimir Ivannikov (#348 Gamoto/Tony Kart-TM Kart) ahead of the Dutchman Dean Hoogendoorn (#356 AKM Motorsport/KR-Iame) and the American Asher Ochstein (#342 CRG Racing Team/CRG-TM Kart). In race 2, the Czech driver Jindrich Pesl (#365 Monster Factory Team/Intrepid-TM Kart) managed to win over Iacopo Martinese (#362 AKM Motorsport/KR-Iame), while Asher Ochstein secured the third position once again. Gino Rocchio (#339 DR/DR-Modena Engines) maintains the top position in the championship thanks to two solid placements.

The standings of the Italian OK-N Junior Championship:
1. Gino Rocchio (ITA #339 DR/DR-Modena Engines-Vega) points 195
2. Bruno Gryc (POL #315 MLG Racing/Parolin-TM Kart) points 178
3. Asher Ochstein (USA #342 CRG Racing Team/CRG-TM Kart) points 138.

OK-N – The two finals are won by the Poles Grzywacz and Pasiewicz.
After making a strong impression in the heats, the Pole Bartosz Grzywacz (#402 KGT/Tony Kart-TM Kart) secures victory in the first final as well, ahead of Antonio Apicella (#416 Team Driver/KR-Iame) and Stefano Pedani (#428 Italcorse Racing Team/Italcorse-TM Kart). In race 2, the other Polish driver who took the lead, Karol Pasiewicz (#417 Novalux/Lenzokart-LKE), ahead of his Modena Kart teammates, Francesco Marenghi and Bati Ege Yildirim. Federico Albanese (#439 Italcorse/Italcorse-TM Kart) settled for two fourth-place finishes and temporarily loses the championship lead, which is now held by Bartosz with a 3-point advantage.

The standings of the Italian OK-N Championship:
1. Grzywacz Bartosz (POL #402 KGT Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex) points 230
2. Federico Albanese (ITA #439 Italcorse/Italcorse-TM Kart-Vega) points 227
3. Francesco Marenghi (ITA #414 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart) points 210

KZN – The titles go to Piccioni (Under) and Nalon (Over).
This event was also valid for the final round of the Italian 2023 Championship for the two categories of KZN Under and Over, following the two previous rounds in Cremona and La Conca. In Sarno, the two titles went to the main protagonists of the category, with Antonio Piccioni (#527 TK Driver/TK-TM Kart) clinching his third KZN Under title with valuable placements in both finals, and Riccardo Nalon (#601 ErreEsse/Parolin-TM Kart) securing his second consecutive KZN Over title with a victory and a second-place finish.

KZN - Under and Over Finals.
In the KZN Under category, Andrea Calvanese (#567 Italcorse Racing Team/Italcorse-TM Kart) emerged victorious in race 1, ahead of Filippo Calligaris (#522 ErreEsse/Parolin-TM Kart) and Nicola Imparato (#514 Imparato/CRG-TM Kart), with Antonio Piccioni (#527 TK Driver/TK-TM Kart) in fourth. Massimiliano Casagranda (#503 Casagranda/BirelART-TM Kart) claimed victory in race 2, with Antonio Piccioni taking second place and securing the title. Andrea Calvanese finished third.

In the KZN Over category, Roberto Profico (#622 Profico/Tony Kart-TM Kart) returned to victory in race 1, with Riccardo Nalon (#601 ErreEsse/Parolin-TM Kart) in second place and already assured of the title. Pasquale Feola (#609 Renda Motorsport/Sodi-TM Kart) secured third. In race 2, Sebastiano De Matteo (#607 VZeta/BirelART-TM Kart) found the satisfaction of victory by a mere 0.04s over Nalon. Pasquale Feola finished third once again.

1. Antonio Piccioni (ITA #527 TK Driver Academy/TK-TM Kart) points 167
2. Filippo Calligaris (ITA #522 EsseEsse/Parolin-TM Kart) points 144
