Monza, the Italian F.4 season record is topped again

The Italian F.4 Championship certified by FIA promoted by ACI Sport and WSK Promotion never ceases to amaze, setting another season record at Monza. There are 44 drivers preparing to take to the track over the weekend, while on Thursday, the Pirelli tyres are already heating up on the track with a 4-hour collective test session.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli enters the round as a Championship leader, right here he made his debut in 2021, with excellent results in the rain. The Bolognese driver, Junior Mercedes and flag-bearer of PREMA Racing, is preparing to close the accounts for a season that, having overcome the initial difficulties, has often seen him reign uncontested on the track gaining numerous victories. Chasing him, second in the standings, is Brazilian teammate Rafael Camara. With Camara, himself a promising talent already in the sights of Maranello with the Ferrari Driver Academy program, who has often re-enacted a duel on the track with Antonelli that has been going on since his karting career. Coming in third is US Racing's Irishman Alexander Dunne. Dunne, race winner since the very first round of the year, gained the most points at the Red Bull Ring round and arrives at the Temple of Speed in Monza hyped by a certainly positive momentum.

On the sixth round of the 2022 Italian F.4 several more new entries: Chinese Rookie driver Rui Qi Liu makes his debut in the Italian series with AKM Motorsport; R-ace GP deploys an unprecedented French duo with Raphael Narac and Hadrien David; then the debut in the series also of an additional team (16 now the total), Monlau Motorsport. The Monlau team will field a Belgian pair consisting of Rookie drivers Niels Koolen and Jef Machiels on the track.

This weekend's will be an unprecedented show, with 44 new-generation Tatuus on the track at the same time, driven by as many drivers coming from 30 nations and 5 different continents. The great numbers of the weekend once again underline the importance of the Italian series in the international scene.

 

The weekend's program, after Thursday's collective tests, includes two free practice sessions on Friday, Oct. 7 (10:20-11:00 and 13:00-13:40), then qualifying sessions on Saturday morning, Oct. 8 (8:30-8:45 and 8:55-9:10). Still Saturday will be race 1, starting at 15:10 (30 minutes + 1 lap). Sunday, Oct. 9, will start again in the morning with race 2 at 9:10 (30 minutes + 1 lap); then the last race of the weekend at 17:10 (30 minutes + 1 lap). All races of the weekend will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV, Motorsport.tv, and on the Youtube and Facebook channels of the Italian F.4 Championship.
