At Mugello Circuit, the last weekend of the season of the Italian F.4 Championship, the Italian series promoted by ACI Sport and WSK Promotion, starts on Thursday with the first free practice session in the evening, on track from 16:45 for 40 minutes. The fastest lap is set by US Racing's Irishman Alexander Dunne, signs the best lap with 1'48.5.  Second best lap goes to Martinius Stenshorne, Van Amersfoort Racing, who is the first among the Rookie drivers in the session at +0.330. Third is the Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli, on the Tatuus of Prema Racing, following with +0.428. He is followed by British driver Arvid Lindblad, Van Amersfoort Racing, at +0.507. Fifth best time for Kacper Sztuka, US Racing, at +0.527; followed by Italian driver Brando Badoer, for the team lead by Frits Van Amersfoort, at +0.613. Good pace at the first contact with the track on the last weekend of the season for Marcus Amand, French driver of the German team of Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar, who signs his best lap at +0.817. Closing out the top 10 is a trio from PREMA Racing with Brazilian Camara (+0.849), Austrian Charlie Wurz (+0.870) fresh from his first season win in the last round in Monza, and Italian-American driver Ugo Ugochukwu (+0.900)  driver already in the sights of McLaren, who re-enters the Italian F.4 Championship after a more than convincing debut at the Red Bull Ring.

The first and only session of the day for the Italian F.4, with track temperature of 25.1 degrees and clear weather, reserves some minor problems with the exit on the grass of the new entry of Team Monlau, the Mexican driver Jesse Carrasquedo, who already this year took part in the Spanish and the North and Central American series, signing in the latter a double success. His car stops briefly on the grass before being escorted into one of the run-off lanes, with the session interrupted for a few minutes. Then again an interruption for the stop into the gravel of Victoria Blokhina (PHM Racing), again without consequences for the driver, requiring a second very quick intervention by the marshals.

Thus ends the very first contact with the iconic Tuscan track of the Mugello Circuit, location of the grand finale of the season. Back on the track again tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 21, at 10:25 with the second free practice session, before facing in the evening the double qualifying session (16:35-16:50 and 17:00-17:15). Saturday, October 22, will be the turn of race 1, starting at 12:20. Sunday, October 23, race 2 will take to the track at 9.55; then race 3 at 16:55, it’s the conclusion of the Italian F.4 Championship 2022. The three races will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV and Motorsport.tv and live streamed on the Italian F.4 Championship's Youtube and Facebook pages.
