James Wharton signs the best lap in the second free practice session

Narrow gaps between the fastest 5 in this morning's sessions

 At Misano World Circuit, round 2 of the Italian F.4 Championship, free practice are now over. The morning record goes to James Wharton, Ferrari Driver Academy home PREMA Racing, who closes the best lap in the second session at 1'34.370. The Australian is followed on the stopwatch by teammate Arvid Lindblad, Londoner driver in the Red Bull youth program. Lindblad scores a razor-thin gap of 0.081. Kacper Sztuka, US Racing, further improves on his  own morning's time and scores the third best lap with a gap of 0.133, closely followed by Van Amersfoort Racing's Italian, Brando Badoer, at 0.141. Narrow gap also for the driver who follows him, the Finnish Ferrari Driver Academy of PREMA Racing, Tuukka Taponen at 0.147.

 

All very close, then, the top 5 from the morning's free practice, a figure that forshadows a tough battle this evening during the  qualifying sessions for the weekend's three races. Pole positions will be awarded to the best time in the two sessions, while the second best time recorded will count for the third race.

 

Qualifying sessions are scheduled for this evening, Friday, May 5, on track in two 15' sessions interspersed with ten-minute breaks, will start at 17:45. Saturday, May 6 will be an exciting day with two races on track. Race 1 will be at the start at 12:10, followed later in the evening by race 2, at the starting blocks at 17:35. Sunday, May 7, race 3 will open the second day of the ACI Racing Weekend Misano, kicking off at 9.00.
