At the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Euro 4 Championship drivers hit the track in wet conditions, with rain having stopped just before the start of Free Practice 1. It's a valuable first opportunity for several rookie drivers to familiarize themselves with one of Formula 1's most iconic circuits.

At the end of the session, two Prema Racing drivers, Tuukka Taponen from the Ferrari Driver Academy and McLaren junior driver Ugo Ugochukwu, tied for the fastest lap with a time of 2'07.097, sharing the top spot in the first session. Third place went to Londoner Arvid Lindblad, junior Red Bull driver for the Vicenza-based PREMA Racing team, with a gap of 0.386. Australian Ferrari Driver Academy driver James Wharton, who led the session for a long time, completed the Prema quartet in fourth place with a gap of 0.399. Portuguese driver Ivan Domingues, representing Van Amersfoort Racing, secured fifth place with a gap of 0.530, followed by US Racing's Akshay Bohra at 0.652. Polish driver Kacper Sztuka, representing US Racing as well, finished seventh with a gap of 0.688, followed by Italian Brando Badoer of Van Amersfoort Racing at 0.748. Prema Racing's English driver, Freddie Slater, had an excellent debut session in the series promoted by ACI Sport and WSK Promotion, finishing ninth with a gap of 1.041. The tenth fastest lap of the morning was set by Sicilian Alfio Spina, representing BVM Racing, with a time of 1.044.

Another Free Practice session is scheduled for today at 13:50, with track conditions potentially changing significantly from the wet morning.
