The day preceding the first weekend of the Italian F.4 Championship comes to an end at Misano World Circuit

The collective tests took place today, followed by free practice and qualifications tomorrow, leading up to the three races over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday

The day dedicated to collective testing of the Italian F.4 Championship at Misano World Circuit concludes, heralding the first of seven rounds of the season. The drivers hit the track in two 2-hour sessions, with the fastest time of the day set this morning by Alex Powell, Mercedes Junior Driver of Prema Racing, with 1’34.821. In the afternoon session, after rain fell on the Misano Adriatico track between sessions, it was Japanese driver Hiyu Yamakoshi of Van Amersfoort Racing who obtained the fastest time, stopping the clock at 1’35.873. The gap in the second session from Dutch driver Reno Francot of Jenzer Motorsport, who followed the leader by only 87 hundredths of a second, was extremely narrow. Emanuele Olivieri, Italian driver for AKM Motorsport and winner of the ACI Sport Federal School 2023 Supercorso, had an excellent first day of testing, marking the third-best lap time in both sessions.

The first day concluded with the race director's briefing and the first briefing from the ACI Sport Federal School, which provides constant mentoring to Championship entrants throughout race weekends.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 3, marks the official start of the first race weekend, with 37 drivers from 25 nations representing 12 different teams, ready to compete in the first event of 2024. Friday's program includes two 40-minute free practice sessions, starting at 8:20 and again at 11:55. Free practices will be followed by official qualifying sessions, determining the grid for the weekend's three races. The first qualifying session will run from 16:50 to 17:05, with the second session following from 17:40 to 17:55. These sessions will determine the grids for Race 1 and Race 2 respectively. The grid for the final race of the weekend will be decided by the second-best time in the combined classification of the two sessions. Saturday, May 4th, will see two of the weekend's three races. It begins with Race 1 at 11:30, while Race 2 will take place in the evening, starting at 17:45. Race 3 will then start on Sunday, May 5th, at 11:00. All weekend races will run for 30 minutes plus one lap and will be broadcast live with Italian commentary on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 on Sky and channel 52 Tivù Sat, as well as streamed on www.acisport.it, the ACI Sport TV Facebook page, and other channels. The Misano races will also be available with English commentary on the Italian F.4 Championship's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on the wide international television network of the Championship, including traditional broadcasters and IPTV. The participants

Ready to race are Emanuele Olivieri and Ukrainian Oleksander Savinkov representing the San Marino-based team AKM Motorsport, owned by Marco and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. A single car fielded for the Slovenian team AS Motorsport, featuring Spanish-English roots driver Edward Robinson. For the Italian team BVM Motorsport, Czech Republic driver Jan Koller will be present. Also, a single representative for the Italian team CRAM Motorsport, fielding Indian driver Kai Daryanani at Misano. 

There will be 4 cars from Switzerland based Team Jenzer Motorsport, with Swiss drivers Ethan Ischer and Enea Frey, followed by Dutch Franco Reno and Hong Kong driver Shimo Zhang. Also, representing Switzerland, Maffi Racing Team fields Swiss Nathaniel Berreby and Venezuelan Gabriel Holguin to the track. A five-car formation for the German team PHM AIX Racing, with Italian driver Davide Larini, Maksimilian Popov, American Everett Stack, Serbian Andrej Petrovic, and Australian Kamal Mrad.

6 cars ready for the Italian Team Prema Racing, with Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri, UK driver Freddie Slater, Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis, Dion Gowda from UK, Japanese Kean Nakamura Berta, and Jamaican-American Alex Powell eager to start. The French Team R-ace Grand Prix fields a duo consisting of Chinese driver Enzo Yeh and Finnish Luka Sammalisto. 2 cars also for the Romanian Team Real Racing, experiencing their first time in the Italian Championship, with the duo Luca Viisoreanu and Andrei Duna, both from Romania.

There will be 6 representatives from the German team US Racing, with Brazilian Matheus Ferreira, Australian Gianmarco Pradel, Singaporean driver Kabir Anurag, Indo-American Akshay Bohra, Australian Jack Beeton, and German Maxim Rehm. Finally, 5 cars lined up by the Dutch Team Van Amersfoort Racing, with Japanese Hiyu Yamakoshi, Serbian Andrija Kostic, Swede Gustav Jonsson, Italian driver Alvise Rodella, and Dutch Lin Hodenius.
