The Italian Federation continues its support for the ascent of the Trentino driver. After securing the RC4 victory in the FIA European Rally Championship, he is poised to enter the FIA World Rally Championship starting from Rallye Monte-Carlo. Rome, Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Italy's long-awaited representation in the World Rally Championship has finally arrived with the announcement of Roberto Daprà as a driver for ACI Team Italia in the FIA World Rally Championship-2 2024. The ascent of the twenty-two-year-old from Trentino continues tirelessly. After concluding his second season in the FIA European Rally Championship with the RC4 victory and Junior vice-champion title, he prepares for his debut in the junior category of the world series, always donning the national colors.

"It's a dream come true," explains Daprà, contemplating his 2024 program, commencing with the start of the WRC in its traditional Rallye Monte-Carlo, scheduled from January 25th to 28th. His commitment involves participation in 7 rounds of the calendar, as outlined in the WRC2 regulations, at the wheel of the Skoda Fabia Evo Rally2 managed by Delta Rally, fitted with Pirelli tyres, supported by Pintarally Motorsport. Co-driver will be Luca Guglielmetti, who has been with Roberto Daprà since they participated in the Italian Junior Rally Championship in 2021.

"I can't wait to start this new adventure," Roberto Daprà says, "for which I would like to thank ACI, without whom I couldn't race at this level and perhaps would be thinking only about work. Always with Luca by my side, we'll start this season from Monte-Carlo with great enthusiasm. The experience in the European Championship has been invaluable, allowing us to step up, to learn a lot. Now the standards will rise again, but we have good feelings. I have to admit that my debut with a Rally2 car in Monza went very well. I found a great feeling right away; it's a great car. As usual, the aim will be to perform well race after race; only then can we build and achieve new goals."

Meanwhile, the conclusion of the current season has already provided Daprà with the opportunity to debut in the competition with 4WD at the Monza Rally, the final round of the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco and the Campionato Italiano Rally Terra held last December in a Skoda, with excellent results (fourth place overall before retirement due to technical issues). The young driver, born in April 2001 and raised in Roveré della Luna – a town in the province of Trento – began his rally career in 2019 with a fifth place in the R2B class at the Rallye San Martino di Castrozza, a round of the Campionato Italiano WRC. The following year marked Daprà's debut in the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally in the 2WD category. In 2021, he became part of the Young Driver Project of the Automobile Club d’Italia as a crew member of ACI Team Italia in the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Junior, where he was in the battle for the title until the end, securing a victory and four podiums. In 2022, he took part in the FIA European Rally Championship, in its Junior category, as part of the national team. In his debut in the European series, he secured podium at the Rally di Roma Capitale and the Rally RACC Catalunya, and a third place in the RC4 class at the Rallye Monte-Carlo. Also in 2022, he was part of the Italian team at the FIA Motorsport Games in Marseille, where he got the gold medal in the RC4 category, pivotal for Italy's final victory.

In the last season, he got the victory in the ERC4 and second place in the ERC Junior. In 2023, the crew Daprà-Guglielmetti won the ERC4 ranking at the Rally de Fafe, Rally di Roma Capitale, and also stood on the podium at the Barum Czech Rally Zlìn and the Rally Hungary.
