With the victories of Michelotto-Liberati (Lamborghini Huracan GT3) and Vebster-Segù (Lamborghini Huracan ST), the third round of the Italian GT Championship held at Mugello Circuit has also concluded. In GT3 race 2, the VSR team secured victory over Klingmann-Spengler (BMW M4 GT3 - BMW Italia-Ceccato Racing Team) and White-D'Auria (Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 - AF Corse). In GT Cup race 2, DL Racing's representatives claimed the top spot on the podium, ahead of Kurzejewski-Balzan (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo) and Di Giusto-Cecotto (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup - Ombra Racing).

In the subcategories, Nurmi-Castro (GT3 PRO-AM) and Ciglia-Fascicolo (GT3 AM) emerged victorious. GT3: After their second-place finish in race 1, Michelotto-Liberati did even better in race 2, securing their first victory of the season. This victory adds excitement to the championship as the final round in Imola approaches at the end of October. Currently, the BMW duo leads by just 5 points, but considering the two dropped scores allowed by the regulations, even the second VSR team crew, Petrov-Cazzaniga, still have a chance in the race for the 2023 Italian championship.

The victory for the Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team was decisive. Liberati held second place throughout his first stint, a position that Michelotto maintained at the start of his stint. Michelotto then had no trouble surpassing South African driver White and taking the lead. Once in the lead, Michelotto managed his position effectively, maintaining it all the way to the checkered flag. Klingmann, who took over the car from Spengler and made several position gains during his stint, secured an excellent second place in the championship standings on the penultimate lap. The podium was completed by White-D'Auria, who finished ahead of their teammates Nurmi-Castro, who are now firmly leading the GT3 PRO-AM category. In fifth place overall, Kelstrup-Sandrucci (Mercedes AMG GT3) crossed the finish line. The Antonelli Motorsport crew, starting from eighth place, staged an effective comeback, allowing them to secure second place in the race in GT3 PRO-AM and third in the subcategory's overall standings.

After their misfortune in race 1, Petrov-Cazzaniga finished in sixth place (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo). However, the VSR team representatives, currently third in the overall standings, are still in contention for the absolute championship title. In the race results, Petrov-Cazzaniga were ahead of their teammates Llarena-Moulin and Denes-Gvazava (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 - Imperiale Racing), who have now slipped to second place in the GT3 PRO-AM standings. In ninth place, Tamburini-De Luca (BMW M4 GT3 - BMW Italia/Ceccato Racing Team) finished ahead of Coluccio-Mazzola (Ferrari 488 GT3 - Best Lap). The victory in GT3 AM went to Ciglia-Fascicolo, ahead of Magnoni-Bodellini (Honda NSX GT3 - Nova Race), allowing the Imperiale Racing crew to secure the Italian title with two races to spare.

GT Cup: The single-make car class also saw a Lamborghini Huracan emerge victorious. In race 2, Vebster-Segù built their success from the start, with Segù closely tailing Balzan, who took the lead right away and then handed the car over to his Swedish teammate. Vebster took the lead at the driver change and extended his advantage over the competitors, maintaining it despite a late safety car that nullified his lead. He managed the final lap well, ultimately triumphing ahead of Kurzejewski. The American, who took over from Balzan, managed to defend the second step of the podium after a thrilling duel with Mattia Di Giusto (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup - Ombra Racing), who shared the Ombra Racing Porsche 992 GT3 Cup with Jonathan Cecotto for the first time, securing a strong third-place finish.

Just off the podium were Randazzo-Stadsbader (Lamborghini Huracan ST), allowing the young Belgian driver to take the lead in the GT Cup PRO-AM standings ahead of Leonardo Colavita (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo). The young Roman driver, along with his co-driver Giorgio Maggi, completed a superb race with a remarkable comeback from their 21st starting position. This performance bodes well for the grand finale in Imola, where the Double TT Racing representative will arrive with just a single point separating them in the overall standings.

Also involved in the PRO-AM title race at the Emilian circuit were Giacomo and Matteo Pollini (Lamborghini Huracan ST - Giacomo Race), finishing sixth in race 2 ahead of the GT Cup AM winner, 17-year-old Vincenzo Scarpetta (Ferrari 488 Challenge). The Best Lap driver displayed heroics by competing throughout the weekend without his usual co-driver and reaffirmed his leadership in the AM standings ahead of Fabi-Riva (Lamborghini Huracan ST - DL Racing), who finished 13th overall and fifth in the AM class.

Taking the second step of the subcategory podium were Papi-Peroni (Porsche 991 GT3 Cup - Ebimotors) ahead of Ignazio Zanon (Lamborghini Huracan ST - VSR), followed by Massimiliano and Nicolò Pezzuto (Lamborghini Huracan ST - HC Racing).
