10/03/2011 - Just few days are left before the official opening to the 2011 season of the Italian Rally Championship, celebrating this year the 50th Anniversary. On Thursday 24 March at 18.01 (local time GMT+1) the tricolored series will start from Castelnuovo Garfagnana and will have important interesting themes. The latest frantic negotiations are in place in these hours to reveal the names of the drivers challenging the reigning champions Paolo Andreucci, Anna Andreussi and their Peugeot 207.

A meeting will be held in the press room of the rally located at the Touristic Center of Ciocco on Friday 25 March at around 20.00 with the presence of Csai's President (i.e. the Automobile Sportive Commission of the Italian Automobile Club), Angelo Sticchi Damiani, the patron of the rally Andrea Marcucci, the managers of brands and teams taking part in the series as well as press representatives. During the meeting the new championship will be celebrated and the latest news will be presented too.

Meanwhile, details on the Italian tv coverage of the series have been revealed which feature live coverage and also a report on the race during “Numero Uno” a motor-racing programme on show on Rai 2 on Sunday at 18.00.
