Brescia, 05 April 2013 – The await is nearly finished for the 37th Rally 1000 Miglia, scheduled for next 12-14 April. The "red arrow” race, second round of the Italian Rally Championship 2013 is heading to the topic moment of the countdown that will proceed the switching on of engines. All of this ahead of the battles on the roads prepared in the best possible way as usual exploiting the beauties of the province of Brescia with four legendary stages at an International level.

ALL THE PROTAGONISTS OF CIR

With 24 hours still to go, the entry list reached level sixty cars, with the predominance of lineups entered to absolute CIR, to CIR Production and CIR Junior. During crisis times entry forms are sent at the very last minute therefore some more names are awaited to enlighten even further the two days long race in the province of Brescia.

At Ciocco Giandomenico Basso ruled his way to the win. He was also the winner of the Rally 1000 Miglia last year, a race that the driver from Cavaso del Tomba certainly loves. Despite quite a tight budget, "Giando” declared he will do his best to be in the games, while the driver from Bergamo Alessandro Perico (Peugeot 207) and Skoda Italy's works driver Umberto Scandola (Skoda Fabia) confirmed to be there after finishing respectively in second and third place at Ciocco.

Other names of the Italian Rally are also awaited in Brescia, such as the protagonists of the Single Brand Trophies (Renault Clio and Twingo TOP, Citroen Racing Trophy Italy and Suzuki Rally Cup), Alessandro Bosca, Rudy Michelini, Gabriele Tognozzi and Ivan Ferrarotti (racing in the Clio series), Fabrizio Andolfi Jr., Andrea Crugnola, Giacomo Scattolon and Michele Tassone (on the Twingos). Finally, Andrea Nucita, Mathieu Biasion, Alessandro Re and Alex Vittalini will be racing the Citroen DS3 R3. Simone Campedelli unfortunately will not join the latter group as the co-equiper Danilo Fappani as the two of them will be racing in the fourth round of the WRC in Portugal.

Paolo Andreucci and Elwis Chentre will also be present behind the wheel of two brand new Peugeot 208 R2, ready to battle as happened two weeks ago at Ciocco. Another interesting battle will get to the heart on the two wheeled cars involving the current leader of the CIR Junior championship Andrea Carella (anch'egli su Peugeot 208 R2) and Giacomo Cunial (Citroen C2 R2 Max), winner of last year's Federal CSAI Supercourse and fourth of the Juniors at Ciocco.

Stefano Albertini will also be present: the driver from Vestone, third in CIR 2012, will be on a Peugeot 207 S2000 with which he hopes to keep racing in the Italian championship starting with the right foot on his home race. Among the drivers from Brescia, Gianluigi Niboli, Roberto Botticini and Luca Tosini confirmed their presence.

CHALLENGE TRIDENT

Rally 1000 Miglia and Rallye Antibes - Cote d'Azur two races in the history of European rally. Despite the difficult economic climate, AC Brescia and ASA Antibes relaunched a collaboration lasting for about two decades with the famous "Challenge Trident". According to the new format, two Italian lineups among the one entered in the 37th Rally 1000 Miglia will have the chance to get free entrance should they decide to compete in the trans-alpine race valid for the French championship, taking place next October. As usual, priority drivers will not be entitled to take part in the Challenge.
