37th Rally Il Ciocco and Valle Del Serchio: Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta get the win on the Gpl powered Ford Fiesta R5

Behind the two, Umberto Scandola, Skoda Super 2000 and Paolo Andreucci at the world debut on the Peugeot 208T16 R5.

Il Ciocco (Lu) - , on the Ford Fiesta R5 powered by GPL set up by BRC Gas Equipment, won the 37th Rally del Ciocco and Valle del Serchio, that is the opening round of the Italian Rally Championship 2014. The Italian proceeded the reigning champion Umberto Scandola, Skoda Fabia Super2000, and Paolo Andreucci who took the new Peugeot T1 6 R5 to the debut on the home streets.

In the Italian Production Rally the victory went to Ivan Ferrarotti, on Renault News Clio R3, who led also the single brand Renault Clio Production ahead of Fabrizio Andolfi Junior. Alex Vittalini on Citroen DS3 was third in the Production championship and first in the Citroen Racing Trophy. In the Italian Rally Junior the victory was obtained by Giacomo Scattolon, on Peugeot 208 R2, that led the other Peugeot driven by Stefano Albertini.

Alongside with the great media coverage provided by ACI Sport during the whole rally with the live streaming from the racing field, the media events dedicated to the first round of the Italian championship will continue. On Monday 17 March Rai Sport 2 will show the highlights of the race from 19.15 to 20.30 (GMT+2). Several TV channels will broadcast the Magazine ACI-Csai in the week from 23rd March to 30th: Nuvolari, AutomotoTv and Dinamica Channel. The magazine will also be aired by 60 local channels. Tomorrow 17 March the Tuscan Rally will be covered with two full pages on Gazzetta dello Sport and one on Corriere dello Sport. All this coverage has also been complemented by the capillary diffusion of press releases and news on local magazines as well as on web sites.
