Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, Peugeot T16 R5, end on top day one of the 50th Rally of Friuli Venezia Giulia

The Tuscan and the co-driver from Friuli lead the provisional classification by 19.2s to Scandola and D'Amore, Skoda Fabia S2000, Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta on Ford Fiesta R5 follow at 45''6s.

Udine, 29 August 2014 – The first leg of the 50th Rally of Friuli Venezia Giulia reached its conclusion. Day one has been tough but nice, one in which the Tuscan driver Paolo Andreucci, on Peugeot 208 T16 R5, pushed since the first loop on the "Subit" and "Erbezzo", putting in a poker from Scandola to Basso. The second time was set in fact by the Veronese driver Umberto Scandola who ended some 19''2s short of Paolo Andreucci. The third time was set by the driver from Treviso Basso even though he started strong in both loops had then to face some mechanical and powering problems to his Ford Fiesta R5 LDI and saw his gap to the top increasing to 45''6s.

Behind the top three, Alessandro Bosca was fourth on Peugeot 207 S2000 and Alessandro Perico fifth on Peugeot 208 T16.

In the challenge for the Production Italian Championship, Ivan Ferrarotti – who is also in the fight for the Clio R3 Trophy – currently leads the charts. In the Italian Italian Rally Junior Championship the foreseen three ways fight for the victory involving classification leader Giacomo Scattolon, Luca Panzani and Stefano Albertini, saw the latter on top with the Peugeot 208 R2 run by Racing Lions.

All verdicts are awaited from the decisive day two scheduled for tomorrow, that is the longest leg of the rally of Friuli. Six more stages ("Canebola", "Trivio" and the long "Matajur") will be in the drivers menu for a total of more than 100km to be run on the challenging streets of Friuli that could decide the Italian Championship.
