Cingoli (Macerata), 28 May 2016 – Day one of the 23rd Rally Adriatico, race organized by Prs Group and valid as fourth round of the Italian Rally Championship and second of the Gravel Trophy, followed expectations. Umberto Scandola and Guido D'Amore ended on top and secured important points for the championship. The pairing has been leading the pack on their Skoda Fabia R5 from the first to the last kilometer, showing the technical quality of their car especially on the gravel. Scandola led Simone Campedelli and Danilo Fappani, that have been good and quick in their debut on the GPL powered Ford Fiesta run by Brc. Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi ended third and were certainly penalized for starting first and had to sweep the trajectory. The Tuscan driver secured P3 in the last stage having the best of Basso. The Italian of Brc spun in the Cingoli's special stage due to a problem to one tyre of his Ford Fiesta R5. The technical values on the field seem to be fixed ahead of the second day that will either confirm or completely change them. A great fifth place was obtained by St. Marin's Denis Colombini on Skoda Fabia R5.

In the Italian 2WD Championship, the fight involving Luca Panzani and Ivan Ferrarotti saw the driver from Lucca on top, as he kept his Citroen DS3 R5 ahead of the Renault Clio R3C of the rival by only half a second. The Rally Adriatico is also valid as Italian R1 Championship. Jacopo Lucarelli, Claudio Vallino and Lorenzo Coppe have been protagonists on the Suzuki Swifts R1B and have been fighting for the Suzuki trophy. The Swiss Federico Della Casa put in a great performance in the Gravel Trophy on the Ford Fiesta S2000 with turbo 1600 engine. He was followed by the Skoda Fabia S2000 driven by Daniele Ceccoli and by Nicolò Marchioro's Peugeot 207 S2000. In the Renault Twingo R2 Gravel Trophy, Trevisani and Giacomo Matteuzzi have been the absolute protagonists so far. Mauro Trentin on Peugeot 208 T16 R5 had to retire, but will join the lot for day two tomorrow.

The challenge will continue tomorrow from Cingoli at local 07.31. The race will feature further 6 stages, three lops of the 9.99 km of the "Panicali" and of the "Avenale", 9,39 km, right before the finish line at 15.30. Two live streaming by ACI Sport will be scheduled at the regrouping of Viale Valentini in Cingoli at 9.40, and at the final arrive of the rally in Cingoli at 15.20.
